Calling Me Home is my Friday Read. I've been reading it off and on for the last few months, but finally decided this week that I was going to finish it (probably because the book is due to the library today and I can't renew it).   Warner Brothers has already bought the movie rights and I hope that they get Octavia Spencer as Dorrie (haven't decided who's going to play Isabelle - at least in my head). Speaking of movies, A Day Late and a Dollar Short is FINALLY about to become a movie .  Glad Whoopi's behind it, but...Lifetime? Really? That book deserves at least the HBO treatment. I'm still recovering from that snooze fest that was the Jodi Arias movie. The Third Girl From the Left is also about to become a movie. With Viola and Kerry. Complete awesomeness. Happy First Day of Summer! Relax in Paradise Vince Flynn and Michael Hastings . The Apple antitrust case should be ending soon. B&N is trying to give away the Nook.  I think they will be out of the device business by next year.  And that may be too late. If you haven't gotten Questlove's book, you should do so. Now. This story alone should make you run and get it. Somewhat book related, since she has cookbooks and a magazine (that my mother subscribes to), but DAMN IT PAULA !!  I'm totally letdown by this. I know this not book related, but I hope that Kim and Kanye are Zadie Smith fans.  Because that is the only explanation I will accept for naming their child North .

I'm back! Sorry it's been so long since I have posted.  I have been thinking about the direction that this blog should take.  I have decided to make a few changes to the blog: Make reviews shorter.  They will be the same, in-depth posts but they will be shorter.  There will also be more video reviews. What's In The Mailbox: This is where I show off the books and ARC (advanced review copies) that wind up at my house. Library Finds: Same as What's In The Mailbox, but instead of ARCs, it's library books (and they can go back to the library when I'm done). News You Can Use: Book news that I have found interesting. There will still be postings on book signings and events that I attended.  Actually, you will be seeing posts soon of some events I attended that haven't made it on the blog.
